Today I found myself finally at peace

It was so refreshing

I felt as though I was

In the middle of the ocean

Surrounded by calm waters

As I lay under the Heavens

A wave of happiness

Entered my body

And touched my soul

I listened to the water

As it lapped lazily around me

Never did I know

That in learning to love myself

I could feel so free

And so uplifted

As I do now

I now see how much

I have cheated myself

All those times

I lived for everyone else

And left myself undone

All those times

I forgot I was alive

Because the world

Living around me was more important

Well no more

I have come home

HOME …such a simple word

But the meaning is multiplied

By millions

The meaning gives you life

Because unless you are truly

Comfortable within

You can never find home

You can never find love

You can never find forgiveness

You can never find yourself

But I did today

And I want to thank you

Because in allowing me

To be touched by

The simplicity that is your love

I was able to face sundown

Without the usual fear

That surrounds my heart

When I face the night alone

For now I feel love

And I know love



Today I found myself

And I loved it!



Today I found you

And we created us



A combination of two

With one meaning



It may not last forever

But it has ignited something in me

That I will carry till the end of my days

It will not define me

But it will stay a part of me



Today I found myself finally at peace

Because today I allowed myself

To let you into my heart
