"The Trees Have Many Colors"
  by African Queen

(title suggested by Angeleyes)

bright and dull
dangerous and safe
bold and beautiful
elegant and soothing
either way the trees have a story
difficult to read at times
but demonstrate that
they are here to stay
branching to different
leaves with different shades
that have unique shapes
standing out from the rest
making it interesting
to know more about them
and what they hold
in their rough and protective barks
maybe fragile hearts or souls
or just more tough layers?
either way the trees
bare more than color
but a resemblance
to our society and lives...

Nice..my co-worker was laughin at me because I admire the many colors of the leaves...love the connotation that our society encaptures them.

poet *shakes head* you have no idea how much i love trees! i mean...i could talk to one all day if it would only talk back *sighs sadly* and i'm not even joking, seriously, anyone that knows me knows my deep and immense love for trees. For me the symbolize history, growth and wisdom...i mean think about it most times in cartoons the talking trees are really wise- what about the old tree in Pocahontas? LOL no i'm playing but seriously i love trees *sighs* thank you for this lovely poem and the me...
