Neglected voices of the different multitudes
from subcities you know, the wandering forgotten
to the disregarded used and abused
packed in government yards to seclude
systematically subdued trapped in an almost insanely refuge
treated with discard a relentless solitude
lifeless pit full of neglected negative attitudes
searching for a way to survive win or lose
because hunger eats what rich folks spew
spending a dime while earning a nickel is hard to chew
poverty is a crime the world over.......oppressed world view
primarily the negative scattered all over TV tubes
morning, 12 noon, evening, evn the late night news
BREAKING NEWS on lost hope, faded dreams, drugs, drive-by's, murders and senseless violence
portraying ghetto streets as dark and silent
rarely an exclusive on the working hard and those trying
or on how the majority in the community are positively thriving
some struggling yet legally surviving
take a listen and hear the oppressed chorus
there is no type of conversion
it's time to heal the wounds caused by the Trans-Atlantic dispersion
to link the chains of the Black Diaspora
sometimes it's best to forgive and let go
because history will forever hear the voice of The Ghetto's Oppressed Echo
