My mother was just getting out of high school
And she knew what she had to do, she was no fool
Off to college was her main focus,
And anything else seemed locus.
She wanted to go to college real bad,
But if she went then her dad would be mad.
Please she didnt have the money she needed,
Got a job at a retirement home, the elderly she feeded.
After her dad discovered what she was doing,
He made her quit and said he was ruling.
Anything she did had to go through him,
And if she didn't stop she would be missing a limb,
So she took all the money that she had earned,
And all of the things that she had learned,
Hopped on the first plane to her destination,
College was something in her imagination.
Then she landed in London town,
Started working as a assistant of boo-boo the clown.
Earned some extra dollars and then she would see,
The answers to all of her long lived dreams.
An ad on a billboard promised money for college,
And she knew that she qualified based on her knowledge.
She applied for the scholarship and she got the money,
Started college, and graduated, and then found her honey.
Now my mother works in the job that she likes,
And she tells me that everything will be alright.
As long as I put God and education first,
Then the world is mine to open and burst.
