She used to sing those very words to me,
The very first song she knew,
Hoping i understood the words she was singing,
I did and now those words are engraved in my heart...
She watched me take my first steps,
And never failed to remind me that she was two years older than i was,
Years flew, Friendship flew,
She depended on me and it felt good,
When her mother died,
She held on to the one thing closest to her,
ME!
And with no hesitation, I was her consolation...
Every dime i had, i exhausted on her,
For every smile i wore i had her to thank...
Now we're separated by a thousand miles,
But in my heart she lives on,
May seem like I've abandoned her,
But it was never intended,
Sometimes fate decides situation with out consulting you,
But you know the saying,
"Blood is thicker than water"
And i believe it can withstand anything, including our lil problem of distance,
If or not we see again, is left for God to decide,
