"LIGHT SKINNED BETTER THAN DARK? READ IT!"
  by sherry2k7

I was looking on myspace some time ago and some guy (Name Witheld) posted a blog about being light skinned over dark. He then went on to say that black men "Black Men Thought Of Dark Women As Ugly"
Okay it goes on.
READ IT :]

July 23, 2008. Real talk, just nobody has the guts to say it;but black men usually prefer light skinned black women, and non black women.
Its because dark skinned women are usually UGLY.Thats not the same thing with dark black men.
Brothers like Reggie bush,Tyson beckford,Tyrese,Blair underwood,Michael jai white(dark dudes) are seen as attractive.Basically, all shades of Black men are seen as attractive, whereas only 1 shade of black women are seen as attractive and thats light skinned lol.Thats probably why you rarely see black men hating on eachother because of their skin colors, because every shade gets love when it comes to us....

Now,ofcourse ull get the brothers that say they like dark skinned girls, but they are in the minroity;and alot of them lie when in the hot seat but notice that you NEVER see them fawning over dark skinned women.
Thats why you see BLACK WOMEN hating on eachother all the time.Black women hating on lighter skinned females and picking out every little negative aspect about their looks to make themselves feel better(reminds me of MTO)

The harsh reality is that dark skinned women are WIDELY seen as unattractive, especially by black men in general.Notice how when they have a dark butt on a magazine, shes always showing her a ss and trying to take the focus off of her face onto her body LOL LMAO
This is why black men flock to light skinned black women, white girls, and even latinas. Why do you think alot of black dudes on the east coast like dominican broads?Because they usually look like light skinned black american females. In the east coast, its kinda hard to find a light skinned black female(all of the red bones are in the south/west coast),so they go after dominican girls because they resemble light skinned black american females.

STUPID RIGHT??
So it pushed me to write something about it, Here It Goes
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These days its seems like everyone's trying to be something their not.
Where we've come from nowadays it doesn't mean a lot.
The inside of a person does not count anymore
Your need to be light skinned and if your not, you just aint hot.

Bleach your skin, get airbrushed. Our lives are filled with images of perfection.
hoping that with all the effort you put it, you might end up looking like Beyonce or Christina Milian.

Just as long as your not dark in colour, you'll be alright.
We're so busy blaming the white man for everything that we don't realise that the negativity about being dark comes from people within our own ethnic group.

It's not white people that think this way about people with darker skin in our community. it's "the some of us that think this way about the rest of us".

Look at her.Her skintone looks burnt she looks like she just stepped out of the slave ship.
But you look at a lighter woman and think she is your future wife even though shes not that good looking. it doesn't matter. she has fair skin.

Look at the music videos. When a man talks about a girl backing that ass or shaking her booty its a dark girl you see sometimes.
but when he goes deeper and says he wants a wife, the girl is mixed, latina or white.
Look at rich or famous black men wives or girlfriends .Some of them would never marry a woman who has the same skin tone of his own mother...
Nowadays you hardly see a black man walking down the street with an dark skinned woman.

We as Africans have to take some responsibility for this "Racism" too.
We can't just put it all on the white people.
Some within our group "discriminate" against darker black people too.
When white people "discriminate" they "discriminate" against All black people.
But when we discriminate, We discrimnate against some of us.
So if you think about it,
what we do is kinda worst than what whites do,
because we show favourtism ,(LIGHT over DARK), they don't.

Does that mean if you're dark skinned, you supposed to be ugly? Do people expect you to be ugly when you're a little darker than the average person?

People like their coffee different ways. Beauty comes in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes.
How Do You Like Your Coffee?

LOVE IT! I've been inspired. This was wonderful, its a sad reality. There are so many different colors of the black race, that what makes us unique. These skin tone issues are very present in the black community. I wish we as a people can see the beauty in us all. It does not matter the color your skin tone is...what matters is ur heart! 10starZ!
