"HE CANT PROMiSE HE’LL B THERE [PART 2]"
  by Lil Lexis

A frustrated tear grows in her eye

But he's not around to hear her silent cry

He doesn't have 2 watch the tears stain her cheek

All he sees is the stain of the blood in the street

He walks around with the heat

Yet his soul remains cold

And she is the only person to who his warmth shows

When he's there she holds his face in her hands

Because all she wants is to look in his eyes and understand

All she wants is to share his pain

Her tears begin to flow as if to match the rain

And as thunder shakes her window pane

She knows he's out there

Racing down the block faster then the shots he released

He makes sure there is no witness, no police

And he counts on the rain to wash any evidence of his crime

Now he rushes to get back to her in time

Before it's too late

Before she decides

Before she refuses to wait

Before her love dies

He goes thru life without fear

Yet the fear of losing her?

Seizes his thoughts

Till his visions a blur

His Js strike the pavement as hard as the rain

He turns on her lane

Jumps the fence to her room

And as he taps on the pane

He hopes she's up still

The sound she hears

Erases her fears

She lets out a sigh

She knows without looking

That he's outside

She glances to the wall

And the clock glows 3

She doesn't care

She opens the window

And pretends not to see

Him place his gun on the floor

Because nothing that happened

Seems to matter anymore

He's wet from the rain

But she doesn't mind

Because at this moment in time

His embrace soothes her

And she wants to stay awake

To enjoy every moment she has with him

But his arms around her is all it takes

He watches her drift to sleep

And she looks so peaceful

He wants to be what she dreams

But he gets no sleep
cuz the only thing worse den his real life
is his nightmares

So he holds her tight in his arms

And stares

At the only thing worth his smile

And holding her small body in his

As she sleeps

Makes everything else worthwhile
