It's been a real joy to watch you grow more handsome everyday
I still can see you playing at Pizza Hut on your first birthday
While chasing balloons you stood up and took off running thru them
When you fell you looked so surprised just realizing how you got there
I was so happy full of joy did you see my baby boy smiling big as day
With a face full of chocolate ice cream and smeared birthday cake

Then by the time you were five you had out grown the baby party
So while we were out and about I took you to The Adams’s Mark
Eating on your Cheerios and wasting milk everywhere of course
But it wasn’t bothering me I was just happy to see you smiling
Then you got concerned and say “Momma where’s my birthday cake”
Serious you were I had to laugh here is my five year old charging me up
Big tub of ice cream and birthday cake little kids running everywhere

Then you turn ten no longer a little kid we had to do skate parties
For you and twelve of your friends back and forth across the floor
As always you smiling looking so happy we never worried about your
So called daddy missing all the important memories and Christmas’s
We have been better off without him and his constant bull shyt
Skating by dancing swift and fast on your own roller blades I did this
Pizza party and birthday cake your friends and playmates doing yall thang

Today you turned fourteen damn you are now taller then me yet
I call you my baby voice changing with your own personality
Now you are older you baked your own birthday cake man
God blessed me with the most precious gift of my entire life
Yet I still remember the first and every time I made you smile
Small tub of ice cream and your homemade birthday cake still
Smeared across your face with a smile like always I love you…
