"A street lesson"
  by LostSoulNamedMarco

They say give a man a pole and teach him how to fish
This way he wont be coming back asking for a dish
Take a young boy and give him what he wish
A way out the streets so he wont have to deal with this shit
Instead you go back on you word and give him a gun
And say listen son let me show how shits run
He too young dont even know how to shave
But all ready throwing up signs thinking he brave
Unstead of food it's gang life he crave
Not to smart to know he aint becoming a warrior but a slave

Now let me explain to you the streets
From sun up to sun set
As soon as you step out your door you pose a threat
You better prayed to God that ya blessed
Because today might be the day you get one in the chest
Everyone think they in the hood with toughest thugs
How yall gonna be tough if in front of the kids where you sell drugs
And always using the money to buy a pair of shoes
But when asked wheres the rent money you always got in excuse
Here is where people stay drinking like its kool-aid
Cuz they all depressed and thinks it eases the pain
The only place where at 13 its ok to have a baby
It the new fad ..shit mom everyone does it ..isnt that crazy?
Here is where you die and no one cares
They bury and life moves on without sheds of tears
You think just because you part of a gang you die with honor
Nigga once your dead your a goner
They dont have time to mourn your death
Because of you they got to find someone else to sell meth
Education is a thing of the past
Why go to school when by 18 your going to get blast
It's not like they teaching you to think fast
Gotta keep you eyes open when you see them cars pass
Ever heard of drive by shooting
Or how bout looting
Stay far from the corners
That's where the big boyz do the recruiting
Before the next shooting
I hope with your life you wont keep guessing
And learn from my street lesson
