"A Black President..."
  by SlimCutta

Black President - NaS

Tupac and Nas both spoke on having a black president..
But even Nas said he isnt sure bout Obama as president..
He could be in it for the historical factor..
But what does that mean ..what does that stand for..
Elections mean nothing without a change..
But thats what he promises right..a change..
Well so does McCain...
So he is wrong because he is backed by Bush?
Or is it because he is a Republican?

Our Black President was Clinton...
Now he is gone..we are out again wantin..
A black president..who is claiming a change ...
But yet what would actually change?
A black president...but would i have a better life..
Would it end the hood life and the hood strife?
Would he keep it real..would he still care bout the people..
Or is this just another hoax..another politician trying to be political..
Using me and you and the others to promote him..
And not really pushing the real issues and trying to fix them..

A Black President ...is that the term we want to use?
I would be better off with a president who cared bout my muse..
A president who represents change without the politicking ..
One who wouldnt mind going after the big companies for trafficking..
A president who would change laws for the better of the society..
Not one who would fight me and you and others for their own money..
To be honest..i agree with Pac..
We arent ready to have a black president..we are too slack..
We want one...so we can say we have one..
Not that we care or would really understand him for one..

A change would be nice..
It would suffice..
But change comes over time..
Not in a single election..or through my rhyme..
It would have to come through a mass of people..
Those who care more about others than them selves and stop being political..
Voting because "He is black"...
Thats the wrong reason...some of us have no tact..
Reasoning with the wrong reason and thought...
I just hope..along with Obama...we arent done with this fight we have yet to have fought..
